The Charitable Gaming Act, signed by Governor Andrew Cuomo, is a step towards reforming antiquated laws surrounding raffling. The bill reverses past laws that prevented online raffle sales and will help groups such as fire departments, Rotary Clubs, public libraries, Boys and Girls Clubs, and many more to capitalize the amounts of funds raised for non-profit causes.
For the time being, New York organizations hosting an event on RafflesNow will only be able to conduct a raffle between participants within the state. As New York takes steps towards modernizing state rules for charitable gaming, RafflesNow will continue to provide a quick and straightforward platform for New Yorkers to take advantage of their new fundraising liberties. Welcome to RafflesNow, New York residents!
